Floris est le dernier magasin de fleurs à Kigali. Depuis 15 ans, les habitants de toute la ville y viennent pour organiser un mariage et d’autres, quelquefois les mêmes, pour fleurir un enterrement ou un mémorial. De la Saint Valentin à la saison des mariages, en passant par la période de deuil au mois d’avril, Donatille, la propriétaire, accueille ses clients avec entrain et générosité, aidée en cela par une équipe de jeunes employés, qui appartiennent tous à une nouvelle génération qui n’a pas connu le génocide. Alors que la question de la survie du magasin se pose, Floris est une histoire d’amour et de survie dans un pays qui oscille entre le poids d’un passé traumatisant et l’appel à la vie.

Floris is the last flower shop in Kigali. For the past 15 years, people from all over the city have been coming here to organize a wedding and others, sometimes the same ones, to flower a funeral or a memorial. From Valentine’s Day to the wedding season, passing through the mourning period in April, Donatille, the owner, welcomes her customers with enthusiasm and generosity, helped by a team of young employees, all of whom belong to a new generation that has not known genocide. As the question of the store’s survival arises, Floris is a story of love and survival in a country that oscillates between the weight of a traumatic past and the call to life.
