En racontant l'histoire de l'Artemisia et de ceux qui se battent pour que cette plante soit largement diffusée, MALARIA BUSINESS met au pied du mur les institutions qui tentent de lutter contre le paludisme depuis 50 ans. En 2017, la maladie continue de tuer un enfant toutes les deux minutes, le parasite qui la provoque devient résistant aux médicaments, les moustiques contournent les moustiquaires, et le vaccin promis pour 2018 s'avère décevant. Pendant ce temps, des chercheurs africains, américains et européens révèlent qu'une simple tisane d'Artemisia peut prévenir et soigner le paludisme. Utilisée depuis deux millénaires en Chine, cette plante est pourtant déconseillée par l'OMS et interdite en France.

By telling the story of Artemisia and of those who are fighting to make this plant widely available, MALARIA BUSINESS is putting the institutions that have been trying to fight malaria for the past 50 years to the wall. In 2017, the disease continues to kill a child every two minutes, the parasite that causes it becomes resistant to drugs, mosquitoes bypass mosquito nets, and the vaccine promised for 2018 is proving disappointing. Meanwhile, African, American and European researchers are revealing that a simple herbal tea of Artemisia can prevent and treat malaria. Used for two millennia in China, this plant is however not recommended by the WHO and prohibited in France.
