Apprendre à nager raconte l’histoire de Nordia, une jeune Jamaïcaine profondément religieuse, qui doit assumer la tâche de co-parent avec son amour d’enfance Everton, un homme dont elle est toujours amoureuse. En les voyant grandir, nous découvrons comment ils se sont rencontrés, ce qui les a séparés et comment ils ont dû apprendre à marcher sur les eaux complexes de l’intolérance, de la pauvreté et de la ferveur religieuse qui colorent la vie jamaïcaine.

Learning to Swim tells the story of Nordia, a young Jamaican girl, deeply religious, who has to take on the task of co-parenting with her childhood sweetheart Everton, a man she is still in love with. As we watch them grow up, we discover how they met, what separated them and how they had to learn to walk on the complex waters of intolerance, poverty and religious fervour that colour Jamaican life.
