Koukou est traité de fou pour son comportement jugé bizarre. Le comité des sages du village et son père décident de l’interner dans un asile psychiatrique. Son frère Mahmoud, désabusé par son histoire d’amour, apprend la nouvelle et mène un combat pour les convaincre de l’innocence de Koukou. Mais, il finit par le faire fuir du village.
