Ebounda, 12 ans, orpheline de père, est violée par un inconnu alors qu’elle rentre de l’école, située à dix kilomètres de son village, Bossas. Malgré tous les efforts de sa mère, elle se plonge dans un silence total. Un soir, pourtant, elle se laisse emporter par la danse traditionnelle.
