Le départ pour l'Italie des parents de Manuela, motivé par la perspective d'offrir à leur fille un meilleur avenir, l'a profondément affectée. Du haut de ses 11 ans, elle tente tant bien que mal de grandir et de se construire au Cameroun, malgré la tristesse et l'absence, tout en cherchant à maintenir le contact à distance avec ses parents.

Manuela's parents' departure for Italy, motivated by the prospect of offering their daughter a better future, has deeply affected her.
