L’enseignant palestinien Basem (Saleh Bakri) est aux prises avec la dévastation personnelle après un incident tragique impliquant son fils. Sa vie prend une tournure inattendue lorsqu’il établit un lien profond avec Adam, un de ses étudiants, tout en développant un lien inattendu avec l’assistante sociale britannique Lisa (Imogen Poots). Simultanément, un avocat américain de premier plan et sa femme demandent le retour de leur fils, un soldat israélien détenu par un groupe palestinien de résistance. La demande du groupe pour un échange de prisonniers crée des tensions avec les autorités, intensifiant la recherche du soldat et entraînant Basem et le quartier d’Adam dans la tourmente.

A Palestinian school teacher struggles to reconcile his risky commitment to political resistance with the chance of a new relationship with a volunteer worker and his emotional support for a student.
Palestinian schoolteacher Basem (Saleh Bakri) grapples with personal devastation after a tragic incident involving his son.
