Khalilou, un jeune étudiant, après que sa mère a contracté un cancer lié à la dépigmentation, décide de dénoncer les standards de beauté dangereux. Pour cela, il se déguise en Leila et participe au concours « Miss Étudiantes », dominé par les peaux claires, afin de permettre aux jeunes femmes à la peau foncée de briller.

Premier long métrage écrit et réalisé par Adama Bineta Sow, TIMPI TAMPA est une comédie dramatique qui aborde avec finesse, sensibilité et une touche d’humour un sujet grave, un fléau qui affecte particulièrement le continent africain : la dépigmentation (l’éclaircissement de la peau).

Khalilou, a young student who, after his mother contracts cancer linked to depigmentation, decides to denounce dangerous beauty standards. To do this, he disguises himself as Leila and participates in the « Miss Students » competition, dominated by light skin, in order to allow dark-skinned young women to shine. This film addresses themes of self-esteem, identity and the fight against prejudice with humor and emotion.
