La danse du corps fusionne avec la danse de la machine...
Le film démarre comme un documentaire démonstratif, didactique sur la technique du traitement de la laine : tondre la toison des moutons, puis démêler la laine recueillie, avant de passer successivement aux opérations de battage, cardage et filage. Mais juste après la séquence inaugurale, ce pur regard documentariste se mue en une vision esthétique qui s'applique à transfigurer le dispositif manufacturé au gré d'un ensemble d'effets visuels : des travellings fluides qu'accentue le recours au ralenti. Là, le film change de registre et conduit à un glissement tout à la fois générique et sémantique.

The body dance merges with the machine dance...
The film begins as a demonstrative, didactic documentary on the technique of wool treatment: shearing sheep's fleece, then detangling the collected wool, before proceeding successively to batting, carding and spinning. But just after the opening sequence, this pure documentary gaze turns into an aesthetic vision that applies itself to transfiguring the manufactured device with a set of visual effects: fluid travellings accentuated by the use of slow motion. There, the film changes register and leads to a glide that is both generic and semantic.
