Alors que les politiciens du monde entier cherchent à sauver le Liban du spectre d’une guerre civile et des affres d’élections mises constamment en échec, Dalia Al Kury, rend visite à des membres de sa famille au Sud Liban: son énergique oncle Rami, qui ne dédaigne jamais une baignade, la petite Mariam, qui apprend à marcher et Ali, le courageux fermier. Ce regard intime dessine le portrait vivant d’une famille où l’humour noir est l’ultime recours pour supporter les souvenirs encore trop présents de la guerre.

While the politicians of the world are focused on saving Lebanon from a potential civil war and reoccurring failed elections, the filmmaker
goes on a family visit to southern Lebanon and focuses the lens on her animated uncle Rami, who would much rather swim, little Mariam
who is learning how to walk and Ali, the courageous farmer. The result is an intimate and vibrant family portrait, which represents the potency of Lebanese dark humor-a gift that has helped them cope with a memory still imprinted with war.
