Pour un cinéaste Palestinien, la situation au Proche-Orient est quelque chose avec laquelle on vit depuis la naissance, comme si c’était une ombre. Même si vous vivez en Europe, vous allumez la télévision et cela vous poursuit. C’est la situation la plus complexe au monde à tous les niveaux politique, culturel, religieux économique.

This is a film that artfully imagines the future of a four-year old boy who almost died in the assassination of his PLO lieutenant father 25 years ago.

Athens, 1983. The world press reports 4-year old Bashir is killed in the assassination of his father, a top PLO lieutenant. But what if death is not the end of his journey? What if he would come back to life today and would dig through his past and discover his future, only to witness the dream he and his father died for is becoming a nation turned against itself?

Athene, 1983. De internationale pers bericht over de dood van de vier jaar oude Bashir tijdens de moordaanslag op zijn vader, een belangrijk lid van de PLO. Maar wat als de dood niet het einde van zijn reis zou zijn? Wat zou er gebeuren als hij vandaag, nu negenentwintig jaar oud, tot leven zou komen en zijn verleden ontdekt om vervolgens getuige te zijn van de teloorgang van zijn vaders droom terwijl het Palestijnse volk zich in toenemende mate tegen zichzelf keert?
