Pendant la guerre civile des années 1990, qui a déchiré l'Algérie, le commissaire de police Brahim Llob, par ailleurs écrivain à ses heures, traque les islamistes au quotidien. Il est devenu la cible privilégiée de ces derniers et c'est avec la peur au ventre qu'il intègre chaque matin son bureau au Commissariat central d'Alger. Il doit retrouver la fille disparue d'un ancien haut fonctionnaire du régime. Intègre, l'esprit mordant et le ton persifleur, cynique et désenchanté, Llob mène l'enquête avec ses adjoints, les lieutenants Lino et Serdj. Très vite, il s'aperçoit qu'il opère en terrain miné. Son enquête le mène sur la piste d'un groupe terroriste chargé d'éliminer des intellectuels algériens. Ses investigations le conduisent vers des personnages impliqués dans un scandale de la Banque nationale. Il découvre alors, avec l'aide de son collègue Dine, ancien commissaire déchu, qu'il est manipulé par la mafia politicofinancière. Devenu gênant pour le pouvoir en place et s'apprêtant à publier un livre dénonciateur, Morituri, Llob est dans l'obligation de prendre sa retraite anticipée. Avec Morituri, son quatrième long-métrage tourné durant l'été 2004 à Alger, Okacha Touita porte à l'écran les aventures à succès du célèbre commissaire Llob créé par Yasmina Khadra. During the civil war of the 1990s, which tore Algeria apart, the police commissioner Brahim Llob, who is also a writer in his spare time, tracks down Islamists on a daily basis.
