Créé en 1995 à Marseille sous le nom ORIENTAL FUSION, ce trio est né de la volonté de réunir des individualités énergiques et spontanées autour de leurs racines orientales : l'Algérie, l'Egypte et l'Arménie. Trois traditions, trois exils, trois sensibilités qui dialoguent au fil du chant arabo-andalou de Hakim Hamadouche pour concevoir une musique incandescente entre free jazz, punk rock et chaâbi (blues algérien), avec de grands détours dans l'improvisation. Le rapprochement de ces trois cultures – aux frontières du jazz, du contemporain et de l'ethnique – aboutit en 2000 à l'album "Oriental Fusion" (label Transes Européennes) auquel participent Tom Cora et Barre Phillips, entre autres. Déroutant et puissant !
