Niominka' Bi est le groupe underground de reggae Africain qui déchaîne le public depuis 1984.

Basé à Bordeaux le groupe a rapidement conquit le coeur d'un public dans toute la France.

Souleymane Sarr, le chanteur leader est un incroyable artiste scénique et il a certainement gagné son succès grâce à ses performances sur scène. La foule est tourjours réceptive, à son émotion et lui rend son énergie en reprenant en choeur les refrains.



Niominka' Bi est le nom du peuple des îles du Saloum au Sénégal d'où Souleymane est originaire, ce qui signifie le pêcheur. Il n' a jamais oublié ses racines et retourne au Sénégal aussi souvent que possible, sa musique est évidemment marquée par cette culture ce qui donne toute l'originalité à son reggae, aux rythmes Jamaïcains et Traditionnels Africains., qui ne peut donc pas être vraiment qualifié d'un style. La chose la plus importante pour Souleymane est de voir des gens d'horizons différents de balancer de droite à gauche lors d'une de ses représentations athlétiques.



Niominka' Bi est fortement supporté par N'Diaxas band, une solide formation de musiciens qui jouent ensemble depuis 1998. Certains musiciens viennent de groupes connus Tribal Jam ou Touré Kunda. La maturité du groupe est avantage lors des grosses scènes des festivals où Niominka' Bi laisse toujours un bon sentiment grâce à sa communication envers le public et à sa prestance, comme ce fut le cas au Reggae Sunska 2003 ou au U-Zona reggae à Barcelone.



L'actualité pour Niominka' Bi est un nouvel album qui a été commencé en Jamaique grâce à l'aide de son ami Winston Mc Anuff. Là-bas, certains grands noms du reggae ont été intéressé par chanter avec cette authentique voix Africiane, et Souleymane a ainsi chanté avec Tony Rebel et Cédric Myton au studio Tuff Gong.

Niominka' Bi a déjà trois albums a son actif : Immigré, Fati Yoon et Tolérance. Ce dernier a été mixé par Dennis Bovell qui a réussi un excellent produit que ce soit d'un point de vue de la musique, des chants ou des rythmes.

Souleymane Sarr, The lead singer is a wonderful performer on stage and he certainly gianed his success from this skill. The crowd is very receptive to his emotion and gives him back the energy by singing along the chorus with him.



Niominka' Bi is the name of the people living in the Saloum islands in Senegal, where Souleymane Sarr comes from, it ùeans the ''Fisher man''. He has never forgotten his native country and goes back as often as possible, and of course, part of his music sounds like his orogins. His reggae is a graet mixture of African traditional beats and Jamaican rhythms, so there is no existing name to classify his music. Souleymane likes to see different kinds of people moving from right to left during one of his physical perfomance.



Niominka' Bi is also strongly supported by N'Diaxas band, composed of professional musicians performing together since 1998. Some of the musicians come from famous bands such as : Tribal Jam, Toure Kunda... The maturity of the band is an advantage for the big stages of festivals where Niominka' Bi always leaves a good feeling to the crowd because of his energy and his communication with the public. It had been the case, for instance, at the reggae Sunska, July 2003, or at U-Zona reggae, in Barcelona etc...



At the moment, Niominka' Bi is working on a new album which has been started in Jamaica with the support of his friend Winston Mc Anuff. There, many great names of reggae were interested in singing with this authentic African voice, so he had the opportunity to sing with Cedric Myton and Tony Rebel at Tuff Gong studio.

Niominka' Bi has already released three albums, Immigré, Fati Yoon and Tolérance. This last one was mixed by Dennis Bovell and it is a perfect complete product concerning the sound, the voices or the rhythms.
