Congratulations to Egyptian filmmaker Yousry Nasrallah for being selected as Variety’s Middle East Filmmaker of 2012!
Yousry Nasrallah has made films for 24 years and was mentored by the great Egyptian filmmaker Youssef Chahine.
What distinguishes his work is his motivation to explore Egyptian stories: « There is one constant in my film »Nasrallah says, « I always make films about individuals who will not be crushed by history, who will not define themselves as victims. »

Scheherazade, Tell Me a Story premiered in the African Diaspora International Film Festival-NY in 2010 and was released in theaters in 2011.
