About SILVERDOCS: SILVERDOCS was created by AFI in alliance with the Discovery Channel to support, honor and showcase documentaries that exhibit a personal cinematic vision and celebrate the spirit of independent filmmaking. The inaugural Festival screened 74 films from a competitive field of 1,000 entries submitted from 68 countries around the world.
