L'auteur de I am Vindicated (Ibadan University Press, 1959), s'est éteint au Cameroun, au St Elisabeth hospital Shisong (province du Nord-Ouest)
En 1959, Sankie Maimo (né en 1930), publie le premier recueil de fiction connu écrit par un Camerounais anglophone. I am vindicated est édité aux Presses Universitaires d'Ibadan (Nigeria).
Maimo a publié plusieurs autres ouvrages de fiction : un livre pour enfants : Adventuring with Jaja (1962), A Few Days and Nights (1966), Because of Women (1968), Sov-Mbang the Soothsayer (premier ouvrage en anglais publié par les éditions Clé, 1968), The Mask (1970), Black and White in Love (1972), Succession in Sarkov(1981), Sasse Symphony (1989) and Retributive Justice (1992) (...)

Sankie Maimo, one of the foremost English speaking writers in Cameroon, has died. He died on September 4, 2013 at the St. Elisabeth hospital Shisong in the Northwest Region of Cameroon - a monumental loss for Cameroon Anglophone literature.
