Notice for Haitian Fashion Firms/Designers

The Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export) under the 10th European Development Fund (EDF)-funded Haiti-DR Binational Commerce Programme, will be collaborating in the organization of Dominicana Moda 2015 (DM2015) in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Caribbean Export is highly committed to the development of the Fashion sector in the Region and seeks to enable opportunities such as these to engage relevant stakeholders and foster sector-wide integration. This collaborative effort will provide a great opportunity for emerging and established fashion designers in the Caribbean to expose their vision at a regional and international stage, thus positioning the Caribbean as an international go-to location for Fashion design and ingenuity.

In the past 10 years, Dominicana Moda has grown to be the official Fashion Week of the Dominican Republic thus the most important platform for the Fashion Industry. Throughout its history it has certainly become the fastest growing runway show in the Latin American region.

Haitian Designers in Dominicana Moda 2015

Caribbean Export is seeking fashion designers with readily available collections to be showcased in Dominicana Moda 2015 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic October 20-24, 2015. Selected designers will be able to participate in all activities revolving around DM2015 and present their collections on the runway.

The minimum criteria for participating at Dominicana Moda 2015 are listed below:

      At least two (2) years’ continuous work experience
    
    
    • 
      Must have produced at least two (2) full collections
    
    
    • 
      Must have the financial capability to produce a full collection
    
    
    • 
      Must have the production capacity to produce a full collection
    
    
    • 
      Designers/firms must be based/headquartered in Haiti
    
    
    
    
  
  
  
  

Designers that pass the initial screening process will be required to attend an in-person interview or dossier review which will be held in Port-au-Prince in early August. For these interviews, applicants will need to present the following:

1. Designer/Brand Dossier, which includes the following:

• 
  Designer Bio/CV/Résumé;


• 
  Past Collections (Photographs);


• 
  List of local or international fashion shows previously participated in.

2. Collection Proposal for DM2015

• 
  The collection must include 15 looks (illustration or photo);


• 
  At least 2 looks must be photographed in the actual fabric;


• 
  At least 1 look must be presented physically.
