Pan-African Scholarly Journal in the Humanities
Call for issue 1 of the Journal of African Youth Literature Review (Jay Lit Review) is now open.
We are interested in scholarly articles and essays by young and upcoming researchers, but all are welcome to submit. We are also interested in giving translators the opportunity to showcase their skills. We invite scholars from all African nations and the diaspora to participate in this Pan-African project.
Fields of interest:
African (youth) literature and literacy;
African (youth) culture and language studies;
Feminist, decolonial, reader-response critique, linguistic, etc. analysis;
Translation of literature into and from African languages; and
Related areas of study.
Key topics:
African youths, youth culture, youth literature;
Themes raised in Jay Lit (creative journal), including feminism, youths' relationship with urban environment, etc.;
The use of languages in practice by Africa people; and thus
Multilingualism in Africa, linguistics, and related subjects.
We welcome submissions in ALL African languages and languages widely spoken in Africa, such as English, French and Portuguese.
