Décernés au festival de Cannes 2023
Les finalistes ont été sélectionnés par un comité de jury composé de 193 critiques de 72 pays
Il s’agit de films arabes coproduits par une société de production arabe et dont la première a eu lieu dans des festivals de films internationaux en dehors du monde arabe au cours de l’année 2022.
Cette année, les Achievement Awards for Film Critic (prix d’excellence de la critique) arabe et internationale ont été décernés à la critique égyptienne Safaa Ellaithy et au critique français Olivier Barlet pour leur contribution significative dans le domaine de la critique cinématographique au fil des ans !
Le film marocain Le caftan bleu a remporté trois prix lors de la cérémonie de remise des prix de la critique pour les films arabes à Cannes : meilleure actrice pour Lubna Azabal, meilleur scénario pour Maryam Touzani et Nabil Ayouch, et meilleure scénographie pour Virginie Surdej.
Le film irakien Hanging Gardens d’Ahmed Yassin Aldaradji a remporté le prix du meilleur film.
Le Prix de la critique pour les films arabes à Cannes a décerné à Adam Bessa (Tunisie) le prix du meilleur acteur pour son rôle dans Harka.
Le film tunisien Ashkal a reçu deux prix : Meilleur réalisateur pour Youssef Chebbi et Meilleur montage pour Valentin Féron.
D’autres prix ont été décernés : Meilleur documentaire pour Forages (Palestine) de Jumana Manna et Meilleure musique pour Under the Fig Trees (Tunisie) d’Amine Bouhafa.

The finalists were selected by a jury committee comprising 193 critics from 72 countries
They comprise Arab films that were co-produced by an Arab production company and have premiered at international film festivals outside of the Arab World during 2022.
This year’s Achievement Awards for Arab and International Critics went to the Egyptian critic Safaa Ellaithy & the French critic Olivier Barlet for their significant contribution in the film critique field over years!
Morocco’s The Blue Caftan garnered three awards at the Critics Awards for Arab Films at Cannes: Best Actress for Lubna Azabal, Best Screenplay for Maryam Touzani and Nabil Ayouch, and Best Scenography for Virginie Surdej.
Iraqi film Hanging Gardens by Ahmed Yassin Aldaradji won Best Film.
The Critics Awards for Arab Films in Cannes awarded Adam Bessa (Tunisia) with Best Actor Award for his role in Harka.
