We to wish to introduce BOBTV to you. BOBTV is the acronym for Best of the Best African Film and TV Programmes Market an annual event that holds in Abuja Nigeria. BOBTV 2007 shall be the fourth Edition. BOBTV is held in collaboration with the Nigerian Government through the Federal Ministry of Information and National orientation and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.
BOBTV 2007 shall hold between the 11th and 15th of March 2007 and the theme for the 5 days of bumper and business filled Content convention is « Building Bridges ». Indeed the Nigerian Movie Industry a.k.a Nollywood is reaching out to other countries Movie and TV programme industries. Nollywood in its 14 years of existence has exploded to become the third largest movie industry making 2078 films annually and commending billions of Naira in sales world wide. As a cultural medium, its progress has been phenomenal, a subject of study by various academic and economic groups world wide.
Mindful of the need for a solid foundation for further growth, Nollywood is building structures for future growth. One of such structures is BOBTV, a platform for Exhibitions and market screenings, training and skill acquisition, business, networking, workshops and seminars. BOBTV is reaching out to individuals and organisation to come utilize the platform of BOBTV to showcase their films, festivals, ideas, events, products etc.
We are also inviting you to come celebrate Nollywood with us at the first ever Nollywood International film festival NOLLYFEST which shall feature the best in Nigerian, African, and African film in the Diaspora. We shall also feature Bollywood and British films in our attempt to build bridges. The two events shall run simultaneously in Abuja.
The African Movie Academy Award (AMAA) which shall be holding on the 10th of March, shall kick off a whole week of celebration of African films and culture in Nigeria.
