Le thème de cette année est "About Face"
Le Festival International des Arts d'Harare (HIFA) a fait ses débuts en 1999 et s'est alors produit devant un public très divers (Zimbabwéens, artistes participants, média locaux et internationaux) et très enthousiaste. L'événement met en avant les plus grands artistes zimbabwéens et du monde entier dans les domaines de la musique, du théâtre, du récit, de la danse, des arts appliqués et visuels. L'édition 2009 du Festival a montré plus de 120 artistes internationaux de 24 pays et a récolté un succès jusqu'alors sans précédent au Zimbabwe en vendant plus de 50 000 tickets.
L'édition 2010 aura lieu du 27 avril au 2 mai et exposera à nouveau des artistes du monde entier, de 20 pays différents, s'ajoutant au phénoménal apport des artistes locaux (www.hifa.co.zw). Le thème de cette année est "About Face".
ABOUT FACE
Le thème de cette année s'adresse d'abord à tous les Zimbabwéens, les invitant à renverser les choses autour d'eux, à avancer vers une transformation avec espoir et optimisme, pour atteindre de nouveaux commencements, tant sociétaux qu'artistiques. Il s'agit d'appeler les artistes à aborder de nouvelles perspectives, idées et inspirations dans un contexte où aller de l'avant est synonyme de confronter le passé et le futur en même temps. Le thème vise également à rendre hommage au visage des Zimbabwéens, du passé comme du présent, qui n'a de cesse de relever les défis quotidiens avec grâce, détermination et créativité.
HIFA invite les artistes qui souhaiteraient participer à l'édition 2010 du Festival : candidatures à envoyer par mail avant le 31 janvier 2010.

HIFA Call for Artists
The Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA) began in 1999 and has received an enthusiastic response from Zimbabwean audiences, participating artists as well as local/regional and international media. The event celebrates the finest Zimbabwean and international music, theatre, spoken word, dance and visual and applied arts. HIFA 2009 featured over 120 international artists from 24 countries, and attracted unprecedented public attention in Zimbabwe; over 50 000 tickets were sold.
HIFA 2010 will run from 27th April to 2nd May and will again feature diverse international programming with participating artists from more than 20 countries, in addition to the huge Zimbabwean arts showcase (www.hifa.co.zw). The theme for this year's Festival is About Face.
ABOUT FACE
The theme for this year's Festival is an invitation to all Zimbabweans to turn things around- to look with hope and optimism for transformation and new beginnings, both artistic and societal. It is a call to artists to consider new vantage points, ideas and inspiration at a time when moving forward is about facing the past and about facing the future. The theme is also a celebration of the resolute face of Zimbabweans, past and present, who continue to stare down seemingly overwhelming challenges with grace, determination and creativity.
HIFA is calling for artists who would like to participate in this years edition : submissions by mail before 31 January 2010.
