Le premier festival du documentaire de la région africaine, Les rencontres du festival sud-africain du documentaire international, a le plaisir d’annoncer sa 13e édition.

Il se déroulera à la fois à Johannesbourg et au Cap pendant 17 jours, du jeudi 9 au dimanche 26 juin 2011, les Rencontres présenteront les meilleurs films sud-africains et internationaux. D’autres événements intégreront des questions réponses avec des réalisateurs, des cours, des ateliers et des événements liés à l’industrie du film.

Appel à candidatures:
Les organisateurs de Rencontres cherchent des candidats réalisateurs sud-africains ou internationaux. A cause du nombre important de candidatures, les organisateurs ont décidé de faire payer la somme de 15 dollars américains à chaque candidat, sauf pour les candidats africains.

Encounters est le seul distributeur sud-africain qui s’engage dans la distribution de documentaires au public sud-africain. Encounters vends des films pour les télévisions, les théâtres et sous forme de DVD.

13th ENCOUNTERS SOUTH AFRICAN INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY FESTIVAL 2011

9-26 June 2011 Cape Town, Johannesburg

The organisers of ENCOUNTERS, the annual South African International Documentary Festival, are calling for entries from South African and International filmmakers for the 13th edition of the festival.

ENCOUNTERS will show a selection of documentary films from around the world, with a particular focus on South African work.

Filmmakers must guarantee, should their films be selected, that permission from the rights holder are secured for a minimum of six screenings at this Festival.

Encounters wishes to announce that it is charging a nominal fee for entry to the Festival. The fee is 15USD, and African filmmakers are exempted from paying this fee.
The 13th edition of the Festival will be held from 9th – 26th June 2011, in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Encounters is the only South African distributor dedicated to distributing documentaries to the South African public. Encounters promotes and sell films to television, through DVDs and in cinemas.
