La Mostra de Venise entend apporter une aide concrète à la finalisation des films provenant des pays de tout le continent africain, de Jordanie, du Liban, de Palestine et de Syrie. Final Cut in Venice est organisé par la Biennale de Venise, en collaboration avec le Festival International du Film d‘Amiens et le Festival International de Films de Fribourg.
Le workshop Final Cut in Venice consiste en deux journées de travail, durant lesquelles 6 films sélectionnés en copie de travail seront présentés à des producteurs, acheteurs, distributeurs et programmateurs de festivals internationaux de cinéma, afin d’en faciliter la post-production, de promouvoir d’éventuels partenariats de coproduction et d’accès au marché.
Des moments de networking, de rencontres et de réunions durant lesquels les réalisateurs et les producteurs pourront rencontrer les participants du workshop sont prévus.
Final Cut in Venice est réalisé en collaboration avec le studio de mixage son Mactari, le CNC, Knightworks, Titra TVS, le Festival International du Film d’Amiens, le Festival International de Films de Fribourg, la Commission du Film d’Île-de-France, l’Institut Français et depuis cette année avec Laser Film, Rai Cinema, Sub-Ti Ltd et l’Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF).
Les Prix
Le workshop se conclura par l’attribution de prix en nature ou en argent, afin de soutenir économiquement les films pendant leur phase de post production :
-€ 15.000 offerts par Laser Film (Rome) pour l’étalonnage numérique d’un long-métrage (jusqu’à 50 heures de travail, étalonneur compris) ;
– € 15.000 de remise offerts par Mactari Mixing Auditorium (Paris), à valoir sur des travaux de mixage son ;
– € 10.000 offerts par Rai Cinema pour l’acquisition des droits de diffusion pour deux ans ;
– € 10.000 offerts par le CNC (Centre National du Cinéma et de l’image animée) pour des travaux de post-production à effectuer en France ;
– € 10.000 de remise offerts par Knightworks pour des effets visuels et effets spéciaux ;
– € 10.000 de remise offerts par Titra TVS Paris, à valoir sur des travaux d’étalonnage, de mastering DCP et de sous-titrage français ;
– € 6.000 offerts par Sub-Ti Ltd. (Londres) pour la fabrication du master DCP et/ou le sous-titrage en italien ou en anglais ;
– € 5000 offerts par l’OiF (Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie) à un film ressortissant d’un pays membre de la Francophonie ;
– une copie de série en 35mm (sans sous-titres) ou participation (dans la limite de € 1500) au coût de réalisation d’un DCP, offert par le Festival International du Film d’Amiens ;
– une copie de série en 35mm (sans sous-titres) ou participation (dans la limite de € 1500) au coût de réalisation d’un DCP, offert par le Festival International du Film de Fribourg ;
Les prix seront attribués selon le jugement sans appel du Directeur de la Mostra, en collaboration avec les partenaires du projet, les responsables des institutions et des sociétés de services offrant les prix attribués.

NEW DEADLINE TO SUBMIT YOUR FILM: 27 JUNE 2014
The Biennale di Venezia in collaboration with the Festival International du Film d’Amiens and the Festival International de Films de Fribourg announces the second edition of the workshop Final Cut in Venice, which will take place from 31 August to the 1 September 2014 as part of the Venice Film Market of the 71st Venice International Film Festival (Lido di Venezia, 27 August – 6 September 2014) directed by Alberto Barbera and organized by the Biennale di Venezia chaired by Paolo Baratta.
The Venice Film Festival intends to provide concrete support to complete films coming from African countries, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria.
The Final Cut in Venice workshop consists in two days of work in which up to 6 films selected as work-in-progress copies will be presented to producers, buyers, distributors and organizers of international film festivals, to facilitate their post-production process, promote possible co-production partnerships and access to the distribution market. There will be opportunities for networking, encounters and gatherings in which the directors and producers can meet the participants in the workshop.
Final Cut in Venice is held in collaboration with Mactari Mixing Audiorium, CNC, Knightworks, Titra TVS, Festival International du Film d’Amiens, Festival International de Films de Fribourg, Île de France Film Commission, Institut Français and this year also with Laser Film, Rai Cinema, Sub-Ti Ltd and the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF).
The Prizes
The workshop will end with prizes awarded in kind or in cash, intended as financial support for the films during their postproduction phase:
– up to 50 hours of work (technician included), for a commercial value of € 15,000 for colour correction of a feature-length film offered by Laser Film (Rome);
– a discount of € 15,000 offered by Mactari Mixing Auditorium (Paris) for the sound mixing;
– € 10,000 for the purchase of two-year broadcasting rights by Rai Cinema;
– € 10,000 for the cost of post-production in France, offered by CNC – Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image Animée (Paris);
– up to € 10,000 for visual effects and special effects offered by Knightworks;
– up to € 10,000 for digital color correction, a master DCP and French subtitles, offered by Titra TVS (Paris)
– up to € 6,000 for the production of the DCP master and the Italian or English subtitles, offered by Sub-Ti Ltd. (London).
– – € 5,000 offered by the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) to an African or Arabian film from a country member of the La Francophonie.
– A 35mm print (without subtitles) or a share in the production costs of a DCP, offered by the Festival International du Film d’Amiens;
– A 35mm print (without subtitles) or a share in the production costs of a DCP, offered by the Festival International de Films de Fribourg;
The prize winners will be chosen at the discretion of the Director of the Venice Film Festival, assisted by the partners in the project, and the executives of the institutions and service companies that are underwriting the prizes. All decisions are final.
The deadline for registration and for sending two copies of the film (required formats: dvd or blu-ray disc) or a link with the password to see the film online: 27 June 2014.
