Nobunthu, a Bulawayo-based accapella group, is touring the United Kingdom, where they are staging a series of shows. The group, who left the country last week, staged a memorable farewell performance at the Book Cafe.

Nthandeka Moyo, one of the group members, said the group got its inspiration from various cultures.

“The group is made up of five women and was formed by Dumisani Moyo. The group brings out that harmonic melody and draws inspiration from different cultures,” she said.

The group has so far performed in Austria and is also expected to tour Belgium and Germany.

Nthandeka Moyo, Duduzile Sibanda, Zanele Manhenga, Joyline Sibanada and Heather Dube make up the rest of Nobunthu.

Nobunthu played many thrilling harmonies including those tracks complemented with chants

According to Nthandeka, the group advocates for women and children’s rights in any society.

“You hear through the media that almost every society has got women and children who are being abused leading to death.

“This is not good at all; it must be talked about and stopped as it is inhuman. As a group we advocate for global peace, love and harmony, “ she said.

The group has since composed a song which they dedicated to the late Chiwoniso Maraire.
