A new entertainment centre known as Chrichi Multipurpose Gardens is born in Blantyre.

Events Manager at the centre, situated in the Kenyatta Drive behind Puma Filling Station in Chitawira, Wales Chakukuma said Chrichi Multipurpose Gardens seeks to give a platform to artists to showcase their talents.

“I have a passion for arts and so this is why I decided to establish this place. We are not looking at hosting events only but we will also be holding concerts,” said Chakukuma.

He described the venue as open to all events including theatre.

“This is a venue for all the artistic events. We did not only target music but theatre, meetings, poetry, corporate functions and weddings. We are ready because of late people have been complaining of venues,” said Chakukuma of the venue which has so far hosted weddings and corporate functions.

He said they are looking at engaging artists and map the way forward on how they can create events that would bring family entertainment.

“Our target is to have family entertainment. We are looking at having fun days where children can come and play and showcase their different talents while companies can come in and advertise their different products,” said Chakukuma, who could not disclose how much has been invested to build the venue.

He said that they were also targeting hosting events during the week and not only focusing on the weekend.
