Encounters, en partenariat avec Al Jazeera, invite les cinéastes africains à soumettre leurs candidatures pour le Forum de Pitching Al Jazeera qui aura lien à Johannesburg durant le 17è  Festival International du Cinéma documentaire sud-africain (Encounters 2015), le 10 Juin 2015.

Encounters accueille la 4ème Session de Pitching Al Jazeera (4^th Al Jazeera Pitching Session): 12 cinéastes africains seront sélectionnés pour presenter leur projet de films à des responsables de programme de la chaîne Al Jazeera.

L’appel est ouvert à tout projet qu’importe le niveau de développement (idée, …) ou de production. Encounters offre un nombre limité de bourses de voyage aux cinéastes sélectionnés (résidant hors de Johannesburg et d’Afrique du Sud).

Chaque réalisateur sélectionné aura un maximum de sept minutes pour présenter son film, avec 7 minutes additionnels alloués au feedback et questions de la part du responsable d’Al Jazeera. Un équipement de projection sera fourni pour ceux qui auraient des DVD ou autres présentations visuelles pour enrichir leur pitch.



Atelier Présentation (Pitching Workshop)

Tous les réalisateurs qui seront sélectionnés pour le pitch doivent être disponibles durant une journée pour un atelier de présentation qui aura lieu (le 09 juin) le jour avant le Forum de Pitching.

Ces réalisateurs auront l’occasion de discuter de leur pitch cineaste expérimenté qui servira de Tuteur. Le Tuteur assistera les réalisateurs à parfaire leurs idées, la structure de leurs histories afin qu’ils presentment un pitch bien construit au panel. Durant l’atelier, le tuteur transmit son savoir sur la manière de travailler avec Al Jazeera. 



Session de réseautage Al Jazira (Al Jazeera Networking Session)

Encounters accueille une session d’information et de mise en réseau par Al Jazeera avant que le programme de Pitch ne commence.

  Une biographie d’une page du réalisateur et du producteur, qui doit inclure les informations complètes de contacts (téléphone, ville de résidence, adresses maison et de travail)

  Une page d’information sur le contexte du film et / ou le traitement visual du sujet.


• 
  Une lettre de motivation pour demander une bourse de voyage afin d’assister au Forum de Pitching Forum, si la candidature est acceptée


• 
  Liens vers de precedents productions et extrait du film en projet, si disponibles.

Encounters, in partnership with Al Jazeera, is calling African filmmakers to submit proposals for the Al Jazeera Pitching Forum taking place in Johannesburg during the 17th Encounters South African International Documentary Festival on 10th June 2015.
Encounters is pleased to announce that it will host the 4th Al Jazeera Pitching Session and a maximum of 12 African filmmakers will be selected to pitch to Al Jazeera commissioning editors.
The Call is open to projects at any stage of development or production and Encounters is offering a limited number of travel grants to selected African filmmakers from outside Johannesburg and South Africa.
Each filmmaker selected will have a maximum of seven minutes to pitch their film, with an additional 7 minutes allocated for feedback and questions from the Al Jazeera commissioning editor. Projection equipment will be provided for those that have DVDs or other visual presentations to augment their pitch.
Pitching Workshop
All filmmakers who have been selected to pitch must be available for a one-day pitching workshop that will take place the day before the Pitching Forum.
These filmmakers will have an opportunity to discuss their pitch with an experienced filmmaker who will serve as a Tutor. The Tutor will assist filmmakers to hone their ideas, the structure of their stories in order for them to present a well-constructed pitch to the panel. During the workshop, the tutor will provide inside knowledge on working with Al Jazeera.
Al Jazeera Networking Session
Encounters will also host an Al Jazeera information and networking session before the Pitch program begins.
Submission Details:
Interested parties should send not more than:
– A one-page synopsis of their film
– A one-page biography of the filmmaker and producer, including complete contact details (telephone number, city of residence, home and work addresses)
– One page of further background information and/or visual treatment of the subject.
– A brief motivation for a travel grant to attend the Pitching Forum, if applicable
– Links to previous works and promo of proposal, if available.
