Chers collègues et amis,

 

Nous vous remercions chaleureusement de votre soutien qui nous a fait parvenir, jusqu’à ce moment, tant de projets de tous les coins du monde pour participer à l’édition actuelle de Music Theatre NOW.

 

Grâce a votre aide nous avons réussi de rendre le projet plus connu sur la scène mondiale.

 

Hors, il faut que nous vous demandons un tout petit effort additionnel pour promouvoir l’internationalité du théâtre musical :

 

Aidez-nous, s.v.p., à augmenter le nombre des soumissions de projet – en particulier celles des pays non-européens – en distribuant les informations sur Music Theatre NOW dans les réseaux de théâtre et musique dans vos pays, si possible traduites dans votre langue maternelle.

 

La date de limite s’approche – il serait donc souhaitable que vous contactiez individuellement des artistes travaillant dans le domaine du théâtre musical pris au sens large du terme.

 

Nous vous prions de nous aider à renforcer le dialogue mondial sur la musique, le théâtre et  la culture!

This international event is organized by the International Theatre Institute (ITI) and shall promote the exchange between artists and promoters of music theatre and opera.

The competition was first held in 2008 and reached over 400 applications from more than 50 countries in its last edition 2012. This time we are hoping for even more applications especially from all over the world.

The competition is open to works which are new or have been staged for the first time after June 2012: operas and music theatre large and small, works made for large opera houses, or works created by a single person for tiny venues. Composers, librettists, publishers, conductors, stage directors and/or presenters are eligible to submit works – creators of visually innovative performances or dramatic works, which explore the notion of music theatre, are especially encouraged.

Special attention will be given to works, whose musical and theatrical vocabulary originates outside of the Western European tradition. As a guideline for those regions in which categories such as music theatre or opera are not defined: all interdisciplinary work will be considered, where music plays a dominant role.

This year’s jury are prominent professionals from the five continents: Sara Joan Fang (music producer for Singapore’s national performing arts centre ‚Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay’), Guy Coolen (director of the production company ‘Muziektheater Transparant' and artistic director of the international opera festival ‘Operadagen’ in Rotterdam), as well as Joseph V. Melillo (executive producer of the ‘Brooklyn Academy of Music’), Ana Lara (Mexican composer and founder of the festival ‘Música y Escena’) and and Brett Bailey (South African playwright, designer and director, who continues his commitment from the 2012 jury).

The competition is open to works which are new or have been staged for the first time after June 2012 and before July 2015.

Estamos tan contentos con las propuestas hasta ahora entregadas  por todas partes del mundo para  la edición actual de Music theatre NOW.

 

Muchas gracias a Uds. Sin vuestro apoyo no hubieramos desplegado el proyecto  tan ampliamente sobre el globo terráqueo.

 

Con un poco más de esfuerzo se puede fortalecer internacionalmente el teatro musical!

 

 

Ayudanos en hacer crecer la cantidad de propuestas – especialmente de países no-européos –  a través de la información sobre Music Theatre NOW  – preferiblemente traducida a su idioma – en el contexto de su teatro nacional y las redes musicales.

 

Puesto el inminente cierre de admisión le agradeceríamos si pueden dirigir la palabra a los artistas particularmente comprometidos en el quehacer musical teatral.

 

Ayudanos en fortalecer el diálogo mundial sobre música, teatro y cultura!
