Murmures

Président du comité de sélection 2016, le critique de cinéma et universitaire nigérian Shaibu Husseini a annoncé, à Lagos, les nominations pour les Amaa de cette année dans les 26 catégories. Fondés par Peace Anyiam-Osigwe et organisés par la Africa Film Academy, les African Movie Academy Awards, plus connus sous le nom de AMAA ou Les AMA Awards (parfois surnommés "Les Oscars africains"), ont lieu chaque année afin de célébrer l'excellence de professionnels (africains et des diasporas) de l'industrie du cinéma. Les Amaa ont aussi pour but d'unir le continent africain, à travers les arts et la culture.

Quatre films soutenus par l'OIF ont été sélectionnés : L'oeil du cyclone (Eye of the storm) du Burkinabè Sékou Traoré, Derrière les portes fermées (Behind Closed Doors) du Marocain Mohammed Ahed Bensouda, L'arbre sans fruits (Fruitless Tree) de la Nigérienne Aïcha Macky et La femme à la caméra de Karima Zoubir. Si le Nigeria continue toujours à être majoritaire dans les nominations (avec l'Afrique du Sud), dans la catégorie reine, celle du Meilleur film, la composition est plus variée. Ici, l'invité surprise est le Niger (5 nominations au total dont celui du Meilleur réalisateur pour Moussa Hamadou Djingarey), aux côtés du Ghana, de l'Afrique du Sud, le Burkina Faso, le Maroc et bien sûr le Nigeria pour ces 12èmes African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA 2016).
