Le jury de la compétition de longs métrages « Windows on the World » a décerné le prix de la ville de Milan au meilleur long métrage « Windows on the World », d’une valeur de 8 000 euros. Comme nous avons consacré une section spéciale au cinéma féminin, le jury est entièrement féminin et comprend certains des visages émergents du cinéma mondial : la Tunisienne Hinde Boujemaa (récompensée en 2019 au TFF pour Le rêve de Noura), Beatriz Seigner, scénariste et réalisatrice brésilienne, lauréate du Prix du public au FESCAAAL 2019 avec Los Silencios (film sélectionné et primé en 2019 dans plus de vingt festivals internationaux dont Cannes et Michela Occhipinti, présidente du Jury et réalisatrice italienne qui a choisi l’Afrique pour y poser son très beau premier film Il Corpo della Sposa présenté à la Berlinale 2019.
Comme le veut la tradition, le Jury composé de trois journalistes italiens – Egle Santolini, Davide Turrini et Hakim Zejjari – a évalué et récompensé le meilleur court métrage africain et le meilleur film de la section Extr’A.

Pour le sens émotionnel du drame, le respect des personnages enfants, la poésie dans l’utilisation de la caméra avec laquelle il esquisse en 20 minutes une histoire d’une douloureuse actualité.

Machini (Frank Mukunday, Tétshim | République démocratique du Congo, Belgique | 2019 | 10′).
Grâce à un choix d’expression simple mais englobant, à la lourdeur symbolique de l’utilisation de la pierre, à l’indéfinissabilité de chaque grain de poussière qui s’envole, il nous rappelle que les êtres vivants sont condamnés à jamais à être les cobayes de l’histoire et de l’abus de pouvoir.
Histoire vraie (Amine Lakhnech | Tunisie | 2019 | 21′)
Une vision totalement originale qui parvient à briser tous les stéréotypes sur le cinéma nord-africain et à rendre hommage à sa propre tradition et à l’histoire des films d’horreur.

Pour la description minutieuse d’un voyage évocateur et coloré dans une ville ouverte, pleine de dangers et de tentations ; pour la magie particulière d’une nuit qui enchante et aide les yeux d’un enfant un peu différent à prendre conscience de lui-même et de l’amour de sa mère.
Le prix, qui consiste en l’acquisition des droits de distribution en Italie, est attribué par quelques représentants de l’association CINIT à un court métrage africain à valeur éducative.

Adam (Maryam Touzani | Maroc, France, Belgique, Qatar | 2019 | 100′)
Bien raconté et réalisé à travers une rare fraîcheur d’images et avec un scénario dans lequel les yeux des talentueux protagonistes parlent et conversent. Le réalisateur nous emmène dans un monde de femmes, souvent humiliées et offensées, mais qui sont les seules, par le don d’une nouvelle vie, capables de nous faire croire et espérer en l’humanité.
Le prix est décerné par l’Association catholique mondiale pour la communication.

Lina From Lima (Marìa Paz Gonzàlez | Chili, Argentine, Pérou | 2019 | 83′)
Un film courageux qui renverse les stéréotypes de genre et se concentre sur la lutte d’une femme pour son identité. La réalisatrice accompagne l’actrice-femme-Lina dans son quotidien à travers l’œil de la caméra, qui a pour double le rêve, la musique, les couleurs vives et éclatantes de la vie.
Comme le veut la tradition, le Jury composé de trois journalistes italiens – Egle Santolini, Davide Turrini et Hakim Zejjari – a évalué et récompensé le meilleur court métrage africain et le meilleur film de la section Extr’A.

The « Windows on the World » Feature Films Competition Jury awarded the City of Milan Prize to the Best Feature Film « Windows on the World »worth €8,000. As we dedicated a special section to women’s cinema, is an all-female jury with some of the emerging faces of world cinema: the Tunisian Hinde Boujemaa (awarded in 2019 at the TFF for Le rêve de Noura), Beatriz Seigner, Brazilian screenwriter and director, winner of the Audience Award at FESCAAAL 2019 with Los Silencios (film selected and awarded in 2019 in more than twenty international festivals including Cannes and Michela Occhipinti, Jury president and Italian director who chose Africa to set her beautiful debut film Il Corpo della Sposa presented at the 2019 Berlinale.
As per tradition, the Jury composed of three Italian journalists – Egle Santolini, Davide Turrini and Hakim Zejjari – evaluated and awarded the Best African Short Film and the Best Film of the Extr’A Section.

Thanks to a simple but all-encompassing choice of expression, to the symbolic heaviness of the use of stone, to the indefinability of each grain of dust that flies away, it reminds us that living beings are condemned forever to be the guinea pigs of history and of the abuse of power.

A completely original vision that manages to break all stereotypes about North African cinema and pay homage to its own tradition and the history of horror films.

For the careful description of an evocative and colourful journey through an open city, full of dangers and temptations; for the special magic of a night that enchants and helps the eyes of a child who is a little different to become aware of himself and of his mother’s love.
The prize, which consists in the acquisition of distribution rights in Italy, is awarded by some representatives of CINIT association to an African short film with education value.

Well narrated and directed through a rare freshness of images and with a screenplay in which the eyes of the talented protagonists speak and converse. The director takes us into a world of women, often humiliated and offended, but who are the only ones, through the gift of a new life, able to make us believe and hope in mankind.
The prize is awarded by the World Catholic Association for Communication.

As per tradition, the Jury composed of three Italian journalists – Egle Santolini, Davide Turrini and Hakim Zejjari – evaluated and awarded the Best African Short Film and the Best Film of the Extr’A Section.
