The Festival
The Middle East International Film Festival – Abu Dhabi (MEIFF) is a celebration of cinema, dedicated to bringing a diverse slate of international films to the community and to introducing filmmakers from around the world to the region. Hosted by the Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH), Abu Dhabi is a city with an unprecedented ability to develop and grow in response to the global marketplace. MEIFF is committed to nurturing relationships and providing opportunities to those looking to invest in the future of film. With an extended ten-day festival this year, MEIFF will showcase more films, and with a number of editions to programming sections and the prestigious Black Pearl Awards, the festival will honour and bring together talented filmmakers with experienced film executives from all over the world.

Executive Director – Nashwa Al Ruwaini
With 18 years of media experience in the region, Nashwa has gone from one success to another, having been ranked among the top three most influential women in the Middle East in 2006 and the 20th most powerful business woman in the Arab World by the American magazine FORBES. As part of her efforts as the CEO of Pyramedia, Nashwa has been involved in many initiatives promoting Arab talent and thought to the world; including acting as an agent to Arab talents internationally, producing the first ever Nabati poetry television competition and specialised magazine, in addition to two forthcoming satellite television channels in Arabic and English. Apart from her work as the CEO of Pyramedia, Nashwa’s self-titled hit prime-time television show on Dubai TV has been a great success and is going on to its second season.
