Four Feathers (The)
Harry, a young British pacifistic army officer resigns his commission on the eve of his unit’s embarkation to a mission against Egyptian rebels in Sudan. His friends and his fiancée give him four white feathers that symbolize his cowardice. He seeks to redeem himself by secretly aiding his former comrades disguised as an Arab. When his unit is overwhelmed and captured by the rebels, the hero finds an opportunity to return the’feathers’ of cowardice by freeing them.

Grand adventure from the A E W Mason story of tradition-bound Britisher who must prove he is not a coward by helping army comrades combat Sudan uprising. Rousing score by Miklos Rozsa and a triumph of of Technicolor cinematography.

The Four Feathers was first released back in 1939. With pulsating action scenes and its colour photography, the film had a realistic feel that matched any similar Hollywood epic at the time. The battle scenes are impressive and real, you can nearly smell the sweat and the heat of the set.
