Il est difficile de comprendre l’avenir de ce pays et de son passé Apartheid…dans l’histoire de sa mine. Est-ce que les indigènes de l’Afrique du Sud exploitaient les mines avant 1652, date de l’arrivée des Européens ? Ils exploitaient quoi et comment ? S’ils exploitaient réellement les mines, comment se faisait le transport ? Comment ils ont négocié une partie de cette industrie au profit des pauvres après l’apartheid ?

It is difficult to understand the future of this country and its apartheid past without digging into its mining history. Did the indigenous people of South Africa mine before 1652, when the Europeans came? What and how did they mine? If they did mine, how did they move out of mining and end up as labourers? Having won their country back, how did they negotiate a way to own a part of this industry for the benefit of the poor amongst them?
