Jews of Egypt, le premier long métrage documentaire d’Amir Ramses, dresse le portrait d’une société égyptienne multiculturelle au début du vingtième siècle. Les Juifs nés en Égypte y ont apporté une contribution artistique et politique considérable, notamment dans le domaine du cinéma, comme la célèbre chanteuse et actrice Leila Mourad ou Togo Mizrahi, l’un des pères fondateurs du cinéma égyptien. Le film raconte aussi l’histoire de ces Juifs égyptiens forcés de quitter l’Égypte après la déclaration d’indépendance, surtout après la crise du canal de Suez en 1956.
