Nigeria, sous la colonisation. Officier de police, Waziri mène une enquête sur une série de meurtres de femmes au moment où le pays s’apprête à accéder à l’indépendance. Originaire du Nord du pays, il est affecté dans la ville reculée de Akote, dans l’Ouest du Nigeria. Waziri doit résoudre le mystère avant que le drapeau nigérian ne flotte pour la première fois le 1er Octobre, date qui va devenir celle de l’Indépendance Nationale.
