Lucia in the sky with traffic lights
The film tells the story of a being who only exists on a corporeal level, an object to satisfy the needs and wants of others. On screen, Lúcia displays an indifferent look that conceals her despair, fear and fury. She is forever ostracised and silenced by a sexist society that never considers her opinions or desires. LÚCIA NO CÉU COM SEMÁFOROS is a silent testimony of a woman fused with a role or function, without the right to be, think or express opinions.
Lucia is the silent portrait of a woman coupled to a stereotyped roll, deprived of the right to be, to think and talk. The film is the place where she finally springs.
