Pixote In Memoriam revisits the production of a film, which became a classic in Brazilian cinema. Apart from the undisputable artistic quality, national and international awards received and, above all, the social value of this work, Pixote – The Law of the Weakest – a film by Hector Babenco – was also marked by the tragic destiny of Fernando Ramos da Silva who played the lead role in the film. The underprivileged youngster from the outskirts, who impressed and was acclaimed by public and reviewers alike, lead a life that was as striking as his success. If life imitates art, the destinies of this story contain fundamental questions for understanding the reality of one of the most unequal societies in the world. Includes interviews with Hector Babenco and Spike Lee amongst others.
