Nous sommes en 1939 dans un petit village des Aurès….. Débarque une jeune et attirante institutrice française, Claire Boyer, qui se prend d'affection pour un gosse de la region, le gentil Mahmoud, éveille et turbulent….. Mais l'atmosphère en general n'est pas des plus sereines ; des relents de racisme, d'intolérance traînent entre les deux communautes, exacerbés par quelques fonctionnaires français. We are in 1939 in a small village in the Aurès….. A young and attractive French schoolteacher, Claire Boyer, arrives and takes a great fondness for a local kid, the nice Mahmoud, who is lively and boisterous….. But the atmosphere in general is not the most reassuring; hints of racism and intolerance linger between the two communities, exacerbated by a few French officials.
