Rain est une adolescente de 14 ans qui, après la mort de sa grandmère avec qui elle vivait, part à la recherche de sa mère qui habite dans un bidonville de Nassau. Elle est vite désenchantée, car ses rêves
d’amour et de retrouvailles se heurtent à la vie misérable de sa mère. Elle est pourtant encouragée dans sa passion pour le jogging, par sa professeur de gymnastique, qui l’aidera à affronter cette réalité. Rain est un voyage dans les sentiments d’une jeune fille, où vibre la spiritualité d’un pays et d’un peuple, celui des Bahamas.

Rain tells the story of a spirited young Bahamian girl who, after her grandmother’s death, leaves behind a simple, sheltered life on rural Ragged Island for the big city of Nassau in order to reconcile with her mother who abandoned her when she was a baby. Rain’s dream of a loving reunion is quickly shattered when she meets Glory, a scarred, angry woman who bears no resemblance to the mother she had hoped for. Driven by the support of a caring track coach and a passion for running, Rain must find the inner strength to build a new life.
