Trois ans ont passés depuis le génocide, et le Rwanda regarde vers le futur. Elèves Nyange School, Hélène, Valens, Séraphine et Emmauel sont amis sans que leur origine hutue et tutsie aient de l’importance : ils font du sport ensemble et profitent de la vie comme des adolescents normaux, encouragés par leur professeur Murigande à s’élever aux dessus des conséquences des atrocités de 1994. Mais le 18 mars 1997, des rebelles attaquent l’école, résolus à perpétrer un massacre afin de destabiliser la fragile paix régnant au Rwanda. Les amis se retrouvent seuls et sans défense, et font face à la décision de leur vie : se séparer et trahir leur amis Tutsis – ou tout risquer en restant ensemble.
We Are All Rwandans (Nous sommes tous Rwandais) est une histoire vraie, jouée avec le soutien des élèves survivants, et filmée dans les murs de l’école de Nyange school à l’Ouest du Rwanda.

Three years have passed since the genocide, and Rwanda is looking to the future. In Nyange school, students Helene, Valens, Seraphine and Emmauel are friends regardless of their Hutu and Tutsi backgrounds: they play sports, match-make and enjoy life like normal teenagers, encouraged by their teacher Murigande to address the issues resulting from 1994’s atrocities. But on March 18th 1997, rebels attack the school, bent on massacre and destabilising Rwanda’s fragile peace. The friends find themselves alone and defenseless, and faced with the decision of their lives: separate and betray their Tutsi friends – or risk everything to stand together. We Are All Rwandans is a true story, dramatised with the help of surviving students, and filmed on location in Nyange school in western Rwanda.
