Jaffa, non loin de Tel Aviv. Le père de la jeune Mali, est propriétaire d’un garage où travaillent Hassan et son fils Toufik. Les relations entre employeurs juifs et salariés arabes sont bonnes en apparence… Mali et Toufik vivent une aventure passionnelle depuis plusieurs années, qu’ils cachent à leurs familles par crainte de leurs réactions. Lorsque Mali tombe enceinte par accident, ils décident d’agir. Surtout que son père (Reuven) et sa mère (Osnat) n’ont d’yeux que pour son frère Meir.
