Lors de la clôture de la 27ème édition du Fespaco le samedi 23 octobre 2021 à Ouagadougou au Burkina Faso, les jurys ont proclamé les prix dans les différentes catégories de films en compétition. L’étalon d’or du Yennenga est revenu à Ahmed Khadar de la Somalie avec son film ‘’La femme du fossoyeur ». Il succède au Rwandais Joël Karekezi avec son film « The Mercy of the Jungle » en 2019.
Le nouveau délégué général, Alex Moussa Sawadogo, a insisté sur les nouveautés de cette édition, à commencer par l’espace professionnel qui a permis échanges, réseautage et améliorations des compétences. Le MICA (marché du film) a été rapatrié au siège du Fespaco, ce qui a confirmé son importance et lui a permis de tenir son rôle. Les 32 communications du colloque seront publiées. Etaient présents 1500 professionnels du cinéma, 100 festivals amis, 1200 professionnels des médias et les différents jurys. Le projet artistique a été accompli.
« Tout ne fut pas parfait, certes, mais les lueurs que nous avons vu dans les yeux des festivaliers ont montré que le but était atteint ». La 28ème édition du Fespaco se tiendra du 25 février au 4 mars 2023.

L’Étalon d’Or de Yennenga, d’une valeur de 20.000.000 de Francs CFA, revient au film LA FEMME DU FOSSOYEUR du Somalien Ahmed KADHAR ;
L’Étalon d’Argent de Yennenga, est décerné à la réalisatrice haïtienne Gessica GENEUS, avec le film FREDA, 10.000.000 de Francs CFA ;
L’Étalon de Bronze de Yennenga, d’une valeur de 5.000.000 de Francs CFA, est attribué au film UNE HISTOIRE D’AMOUR ET DE DÉSIR de la tunisienne Leyla BOUZID.
N.B : L’Étalon de bronze et l’Étalon d’argent sont entièrement pris en charge par la Présidence de la République du Sénégal, pays invité d’honneur.

At the closing of the 27th edition of Fespaco on Saturday 23 October 2021 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, the juries proclaimed the awards in the different categories of films in competition. The Yennenga gold standard went to Ahmed Khadar from Somalia with his film « The Gravedigger’s Wife ». He succeeds Rwanda’s Joel Karekezi with his film « The Mercy of the Jungle » in 2019.
The new general delegate, Alex Moussa Sawadogo, insisted on the novelties of this edition, starting with the professional space which allowed exchanges, networking and skills improvement. The MICA (film market) was repatriated to the Fespaco headquarters, which confirmed its importance and enabled it to fulfil its role.
