Angie Mills

Productrice, réalisatrice ou scénariste, Angie Mills a occupé différents postes dans l’industrie du cinéma et de la télévision en Afrique du Sud. Elle s’intéresse aux questions de genres et de l’après-colonialisme, à la promotion d’?uvres novatrices et expérimentales, peu conformes aux productions de l’industrie cinématographique et télévisuelle sud-africaine. Réalisatrice indépendante, elle assure actuellement la post-production de son long métrage documentaire Sathima Bea Benjamin : A Home Within, consacré au chanteur de jazz sud-africain en exil, Sathima Bea Benjamin.

Angie Mills has been working in different capacities in the film and television industry in South Africa. Her work as producer, director, script developer, is concerned with gender and postcolonial issues. Her interest lies in promoting innovative and experimental film and television works that interrogate and challenge the dominant trends in the South African film industry. In her capacity as independent filmmaker she is currently in post-production on a feature length documentary Sathima Bea Benjamin : A Home Within about the South African exile, jazz singer Sathima Bea Benjamin.
