Amjad Al Rasheed est un auteur-réalisateur jordanien né en 1985, diplômé d’un Master en réalisation et montage. En 2016, il fait partie au sein de « Screen International » des cinq « Arab Stars of Tomorrow » mettant en avant les talents émergents de la région. Lors de la 57ème Berlinale il a participé au Talent Campus, et a par la suite réalisé des courts-métrages sélectionnés et récompensés dans des festivals arabes et internationaux.
Son long métrage INSHALLAH A BOY – (إن شاء الله ولد) a été sélectionné à Cannes 2023 (Semaine de la Critique, où il a eu le label Europa Cinemas). Le film a représenté la Jordanie aux Oscars 2024.

Amjad AL RASHEED is a film director, screenwriter and production designer.

He is known for INSHALLAH A BOY – INCHALLAH UN FILS (إن شاء الله ولد) (2023).

Amjad Al Rasheed is a Jordanian director, writer and production designer. In 2016 he was selected by film magazine Screen International to be one of five « Arab Stars of Tomorrow ». The following year, he attended the Berlinale Talent Campus in 2017, then directed several prize-winning shorts.
INSHALLAH A BOY – INCHALLAH UN FILS (إن شاء الله ولد) (2023), his debut feature, is the first-ever Jordanian feature film to be selected for Cannes and the country’s entry to the Oscars.
It had a historic world premiere at Cannes (Cannes Critics’ Week), where it won three prestigious awards – the Gan Foundation Award and the Rail D’Or Award for Best Feature Film and the Europa Cinemas label. This cinematic gem from Al-Rasheed went on an award-winning spree, wowing audiences and bagging over a dozen awards during its highly successful festival tour.

A Jordanian director and writer born on 12 June 1985 (in Amman – Jordan), Al-Rasheed holds an MFA in cinematic arts with a focus on directing and editing. In 2016, he was selected by Screen International as one of five Arab Stars of Tomorrow – a list highlighting the up-and-coming young talents of the region.

He also attended the Talent Campus during the 57th Berlinale, after which he directed short films that garnered nominations and won prizes at various Arab and international film festivals.

His filmography includes THE PARROT – a short film he co-directed in 2016 that was funded by the Film Prize of the Robert Bosch Stiftung – HIT THE ROAD (2011), and BITTER DAYS (2010), INSHALLAH A BOY – INCHALLAH UN FILS (إن شاء الله ولد) (2023).
