Pieter Van Eecke

Diplomé en philosophie de l’Université de Gand et en scuplture de l’école supérieure Sint-Lucas de Bruxelles. Engagé sur le terrain social et de la solidarité internationale en Belgique, il a été amené à voyager et travailler dans des pays en développement. En 2006, il s’est installé en Haïti afin de travailler au sein du Groupe médialternatif (GM) et d’AlterPresse où il a entamé son parcours de réalisateur comme autodidacte.

2007 – CELEUR, sculpteur à Port-au-Prince, documentary, 26′

Having a master in philosophy (Gent State University) and sculpture (Sint-Lucas Brussels), I started working in social and development organisations. Deeply committed to social causes and North-South solidarity, I became involved working in developing countries. In 2006 I arrived in Haïti to work with the local communications agency Alterpresse, where I started my filmmaking career as an autodidact.
