En cinq décennies dans le monde du spectacle, Jones a raflé le record de 79 nominations aux Grammy Award, 27 Grammys, dont un Grammy Legend Award en 1991. Il s’est rendu célèbre comme producteur de l’album « Thriller », de l’icône pop Michael Jackson, qui s’est vendu à plus de 110 millions d’exemplaires dans le monde, et le producteur et hef d’orchestre de la chanson de solidarité « We Are the World ».
