Ménothy César a commencé au cinéma en jouant le rôle du jeune Legba dans Vers le Sud (Laurent Cantet, 2005). Pour ce film, il a reçu le Prix Marcello Mastroianni à la Mostra de Venise (Italie). Il a également joué dans L'exercice de l'Etat (Pierre Schoeller, 2011).
