Nathalie Makoma

Née le 24 février 1982 à Kinshasa en RDC, Nathalie est la cadette d'une famille de six enfants. Pour raisons politiques, sa famille est obligée de quitter le pays congo, ils s'envolent pour les Pays-Bas. Sa famille et elle quitte les Pays-Bas pour l'Allemagne et ainsi revenir quelques années plus tard. Elle forme alors avec ses frères et sœurs le groupe Makoma.

Nathalie retourne aux Pays-Bas à l'âge de 14 ans et suit des cours à l'Académie de Rock de Tilburg (Tilburg Rockacademie). Au même moment Makoma devient de plus en plus célèbre, ils sortent leur premier album en 2000 intitulé Nzambe Na Bomoyi , ils voyagent et donnent des concerts à travers le monde. Ils remportent le prix du meilleur groupe de Gospel aux African Music Award. Due au succès du groupe, Nathalie arrête ses études. En 2003, les Makoma sortent leur deuxième album, Mokonzi Na Bakonzi, produit par Claude Blanchard Ngokoudi, puis un troisième en 2006, intitulé No Jesus No Life. Nathalie s'installe et travaille en Angleterre puis en Irlande. En 2007, elle retourne aux Pays-Bas.

Un jour, Nathalie reçoit un appel de sa cousine disant qu'elle l'avait inscrite au télé crochet populaire Idols. Nathalie disait se sentir très nerveuse mais aussi excitée de participer à l'émission. Elle y interprète Amazing Grace, devant le jury subjugé qui la qualifieront plus tard de Nouvelle Tina Turner ou encore de Real Dancing Queen (vraie reine de la danse). Nathalie arrive jusqu'en finale et perd face à Nikki Kerkhof. Elle signe ensuite chez Sony BMG, et part en tournée avec Nikki Kerkhof. Elle assure une tournée de 150 concerts en 4 mois.

Nathalie is an artist with a story. In the Netherlands she is known from her performances during Idols 4. In Africa she is known for being a member of one of the biggest gospel bands, Makoma. But Nathalie is more then an energetic diva with a great voice. She is a sweet, shy personality as well. On stage she becomes someone else who isn't afraid of anything. Youth Nathalie was born on the 24th of February in Kinshasa (DR Congo) as the youngest of a family with six children. For political reasons she is forced to flee to the Netherlands. In her younger years she moves to Germany. With her brothers and sisters she forms the Makoma band. They are very successful in Germany but also in other European countries. Gospel success When Nathalie is fourteen she moves back to the Netherlands and starts an education in Onstage Performance at the Rockacademie in Tilburg. At the same time the Makoma band keeps on becoming more successful and travels around the whole world. In Africa they win an African Music Award for the best Gospel Group of Africa. Due to the success, Nathalie is forced to quit her education. In 2004 Nathalie decides to stop with the Makoma Band and starts working at a ‘normal' job. She works in England and later on in Ireland.
