Onika Tanya Maraj plus connue sous nom de scène Nicki Minaj est une chanteuse, rappeuse américano-trinidadienne née le 8 décembre 1984 à Port-d’Espagne en Trinité-et-Tobago. À l’âge cinq ans, elle déménage pour l’arrondissement du Queens à New-York aux États-Unis. Minaj s’entraine pour devenir actrice avant de sortir plusieurs mixtapes (Its Barbie Bitch, Beam Me Up Scotty, Barbie R&B, The Nicki Effect, Love Pink…) entre 2007 et 2009 jusqu’à sa signature avec le label Young Money Entertainment.

En novembre 2010, Minaj sort son premier album Pink Friday qui se classe à la première place du classement américain Billboard 200 et est certifié disque de platine par la Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) un mois après sa sortie. Elle devient ainsi la première artiste féminine à positionner sept singles en même temps dans le classement américain Billboard Hot 100.

Onika Tanya Maraj (born December 8, known by her stage name Nicki Minaj (pron.: /mɪˈnɑːʒ/), is a Trinidadian-born American rapper, singer-songwriter, voice actress and television personality. She was born in Saint James, Trinidad and Tobago. When she was five years old, she moved to the New York City borough of Queens. Minaj trained as an actress before she released three mixtapes between 2007 and 2009 and signed to Young Money Entertainment.
