Actrice franco-argentine.

Née en Argentine, Bérénice Bejo arrive en France à l’âge de 3 ans. Éveillée très tôt au cinéma par son père, le cinéaste Miguel Bejo, elle commence sa carrière de comédienne en 1998 dans le film LES SOEURS HAMLET d’Abdelkrim Bahloul. Gérard Jugnot lui offre son premier grand rôle dans MEILLEUR ESPOIR FÉMININ en 2000.
Elle tourne ensuite brièvement aux États-Unis dans CHEVALIER (A Knight’s Tale), aux côtés d’Heath Ledger, puis en France sous la direction de Laurent Bouhnik, Steve Suissa et Marie-France Pisier. En 2006, elle partage l’affiche avec Jean Dujardin du film OSS 117 : LE
CAIRE NID D’ESPIONS, réalisé par Michel Hazanavicius.
C’est avec le rôle de Peppy Miller dans THE ARTIST, écrit et réalisé par Michel Hazanavicius, qu’elle acquiert la reconnaissance internationale. Elle obtient pour ce film le César de la meilleure actrice 2012 et de nombreuses nominations à travers le monde dont celle de la meilleure actrice aux BAFTA et celles de la meilleure actrice dans un second rôle aux Golden Globes et aux Oscars.
Elle vient d’achever le tournage du prochain film d’Eric Barbier, LE DERNIER DIAMANT dans lequel elle partage l’affiche avec Yvan Attal.
Elle obtient le (Grand Prix au Festival de Cannes 2013 (pour LE PASSÉ de Asghar Farhadi.

Argentinian and French Actress.

Born in Argentina, Bérénice Bejo arrived in France at BéRéNICE BEJO the age of 3. Immersed rapidly in the cinema world by her father, the director Miguel Bejo, she started her career in 1998 in LES SOEURS HAMLET by Abdelkrim Bahlo. Gérard Jugnot offered her her first lead role in MOST PROMISING YOUNG ACTRESS in 2000. She
then shot briefly in the US in A KNIGHT’S TALE with Heath Ledger, and then back in France with directors like Laurent Bouhnik, Steve Suissa and Marie-France Pisier. In 2006, she co-stared with Jean Dujardin in OSS 117 : CAIRO, NEST OF SPIES, directed by Michel
Hazanavicius.
With Peppy Miller’s part in THE ARTIST, written and directed by Michel Hazanavicius, she reached international recognition. For this role she received a Cesar Award for Best Actress and nominations
all around the world, including Best Actress at the BAFTAs and Best Actress in a supporting role at the Golden Globes and at the Academy Awards.
She has just finished shooting Eric Barbier’s new film LE DERNIER DIAMANT, in which she co-stars with Yvan Attal.
She won the Award for Best Actress, at Cannes FilmFest 2013 with THE PAST by Asghar Farhadi.
